A silly rhyme to help this time! That TH sound makes me crazy!

For some reason that th sound can be really tough for English speakers... native or not.  Sometimes practicing a tongue twister or a rhyme can help work out the kinks!

It was a pretty incredible and surprising off handed extra credit project I did with my overachieving 5th grade group.

It's pretty amazing to discover how a group can have its own personality based on a culmination of each individual.  I shouldn't be surprised that Mauricio, Jhoanna, and Marifer did the extra credit assignments.... (btw, the ones who need it the least...) but I am surprised by how well they did.

Saturday Classes with Daniel!

Daniel has just opened a beginner's class 

from 9:30 until 11:30 on Saturday mornings!

We have intermediate English classes on both Monday and Wednesday and on Tuesday and Thursday. *evenings

Also, Gabriel is teaching a Spanish class from

Rhyme Time: Think Your Expectations Are High?

I challenged my 5th graders to write me a rhyme about pronouns....  

anybody that did it well would have a bunch of bonus points for their creative writing grade.

Here is Jhoanna's: BTW (by the way)  these kids far surpassed my expectations!

He is a boy, and

His name is Jim

If this toy is his, then

It belongs to him.

She is a girl, and

Her name is Sue,

Hers is the boat

That is painted blue.

You are You,

That is plain to see,

I am not you,

"They" describes others,

They are more than one,

They walk and talk together,

Together they play and run.

I am me,

And I am special as can be

For the record, I am sooooo happy!
